Project Estimator - Airside

Primary focus on estimating for major airside projects as part of an airport redevelopment program.  This will include conceptual estimating, design milestone estimate reviews, bid evaluations, and change orders.


  • Work in a team environment to perform both conceptual and detailed cost estimates.
  • Prepare conceptual estimates with minimal assistance using limited preliminary drawings, programming documents, and other information.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing plans and specifications and performing quantity take-offs for overall projects.
  • Work with schedulers to insure that estimates are reflective of project schedule requirements.
  • Work with Project Managers to ensure that phasing, staging, and operations logistics issues are addressed in estimate. Coordinate with operations and project staff to address requirements. Particular experience in airside work is essential.
  • Continual review of recently completed project estimates and bids to incorporate into the historical cost database for future projects.
  • Interact with stakeholders, architects, engineers, contractors and Local Jurisdictions to understand current local market conditions.
  • Review, quantify and price cost savings/value engineering opportunities.
  • Review change order costs.

Minimum Requirements

  • BS or BA required in construction, management, engineering or architecture or show progressive construction and estimating experience to perform described duties.
  • Recent experience in a full-time,  dedicated estimating or estimating manager position.
  • 10 years of prior experience and proficiency in pre-construction conceptual, program level estimating, and detail bid estimating.
  • Aviation experience - Airside Projects including utilities, paving, airport systems, and facilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in large scale aviation projects, focusing on airside infrastructure and facility projects.
  • Competent in knowledge and application in matters regarding cost estimating during planning, design, and construction phases of projects.
  • Able to work autonomously and independently with drive and passion to deliver effective, efficient and on-time results.
