Structural Engineer V

Summary:

We are searching for a Structural Engineer who is able to design and lead. The position requires a Structural Engineering License in the State of Illinois and over 12 years of experience in transportation related structural design. Additionally, PE License and project management experience desired. Typical responsibilities include field inspections, reporting, documentation, structure design and analysis, design calculations, management of drafting activities, and mentorship of other engineers. This position offers a significant opportunity for advancement as we are looking to continue expansion of our company’s structural capabilities.

Responsibilities: 

  • Design to client and regulatory requirements
  • Manage mid to large size projects and programs
  • Keep Milhouse Engineering management advised of all quality, schedule and budget variances in a timely manner
  • Manage subordinate or other discipline resources to quality, schedule and budget requirements
  • Shop drawing review and disposition
  • Prepare project documents and reports
  • Maintain project files
  • Create and enforce project quality plan
  • Data and document entry into various platforms
  • Report safety, health and quality issues to management
  • Prepare contract amendments, change order documentation, and claims documentation
  • Assist management as directed
  • CAD and CADD
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications        

           Minimum:

  • Four year technical degree from an ABET accredited institution
  • PE license in Illinois
  • SE license in Illinois
  • Over twelve years of relevant experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel as well as ACAD or MicroStation
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards including AASTHO and AISC
  • Knowledge of CPM schedule analysis
  • Working knowledge of discipline specific design software and design management systems including STAAD, CSIBridge or other similar software design and analysis tools

           Preferred:

Masters degree in structural engineering
